Dentista - Dentist

- como correrá a consulta;

- qual a reacção mal se feche a porta;

- sentirá a falta da irmã, visto que vai comigo à consulta mas a irmã ficará na escola?;

- associará a bata da dentista a qualquer outra coisa ?;

- será necessário utilizar anestesias e brocas e afins?;

- ela já conhece a minha dentista e o local (associa a "dentista da mãe" pois já lá esteve comigo quando fui pôr massas e branqueamento);

- levará a Hello Kitty consigo e poderemos sempre iniciar um tratamento na boneca antes de passarmos a ela;

- a dentista é especializada em odontologia infantil e é super simpática e muito meiguinha;

One of my little girls has alreday an appointment. I noticed a small yellowish stain in her upper rigth canine and, touching it, I feel a small irregularity, as if chipped. My guess: it may already be a cavity.

Now, bigger worries come up:

- how good will be that appointment;

- how she will react as soon as the door closes;

- will she miss her sister, since she will be going with me but her sister will stay at school?;

- will she associate the dentist uniform to something else?;

- will it be necessary to use anesthesia and drills and so?;

- how will she behave?

- how do you take an autistic child to the dentist: sit her on the chair (or on the floor or on the ceiling, it doens't matter, just sit her!), open her mouth, treat her!???

-...

And I could go on listing but it would be enormous. Yet, despite those fears, I have already thought of some things and took care of the following:

- she knows my dentist and the place already  (she calls her "my mother's dentist" because she has already been there when I had to put new whitening products);

- she will take her Hello Kitty doll with her and we can always start treating the doll before getting to her;

- my dentist is specialized in children odontology and she is super nice and sweet;

- she likes brushing her teeth and she doens't usually tantrums if we ask her to open her mouth, show her teeth or make "aaahhh"

- she knows when she is going to the dentist and she will watch my own appointment too.

However, this kind of unexpected thing that touches my little girls really gets me on my nerves. I was never neglectful towards them, I am always aware of all sort of things: car seats, nourriture, water and milk, clothing, hygiene, etc. and it seems that nothing misses them! I see so many atrocities that really hurts me when I am walking down the street: taking babies on the stroller's cover just because he/she trantumed and doens't want to be sit, baby car seats without seatbelts, children out of their car seats or with no seatbelt on, parents giving orange/lemon juice and chocolate to 4 month-old babies, late-night walks or during the hottest hours of the day without any protection... Should I go on?

My husband gets upset with me when I talk like this and tells me to face these things as another challenge but I'm starting to be sick of challenges, really tired.

Amor - Love

Amo-vos.

------------------------

I just watched a TV show where the interviewed guest says "Love gives you strength, it makes you strong; if it doesn't make you strong, it isn't love, it's something else". Does it need any comment?

Thank you my daughters and husband for the love and strength you give me. I love you.

Enxugar roupa - drying clothes

-----------------------------------------

It's a problem everyday. With 4 people at home, 2 of them chidren, my washing machine is a true hero - I use to call it Queen Mary I, in a royalish way - and it washes almost every day of the week. What about drying all those clothes without making the electricity bill going up to 300 euros (as it happened to us during our little girls first year)?

Well, it is simple; just use your imagination. Here's how we did it (my husband's idea): we put the air conditioning exit up the fireplace (which we don't use)  and, whether it is Winter or Summer, we put the clothesline in front of it, when there's the need of it. It is extremely useful when it is raining or it is too wet and the clothes just don't dry.

Most times, I put the clothesline in the kitchen, with the window open and the blinds down. I rarely leave the clothes outside - though it dries way faster - because of polens and dust and so.

I use to say that my house is for us to live in and not just to clean or decorate. I have plenty of space in the kitchen which allows me to have the clothesline there. If you don't like it, just close your eyes. Ah, and my electricity bill dropped into some 75 euros, give it or take it.
